Ganyani Tshabalala, born on the 19th of January 1969, is a founder and chief executive officer of Ganyani Entertainment, a focused music operation and equipment company that has an established urban and contemporary pop and house collection.Ganyani has achieved renowned recognition and respect for his mixing flair at hottest nightclubs, taverns, institutions, football matches involving national soccer teams and private gigs; he has become a household name particularly amongst the youth not only in South Africa but in the SADC region, particularly Lesotho, Swaziland and Botswana.His broad appeal was noticed by the SABC 1 in 2001 and was invited to help broaden their Simunye brand appeal to the youth by putting together two albums for two years called Simunye House Grooves Vol. 1 and 2 respectively. He achieved the client’s objective and also received a gold disc award for his efforts.In 2002 Ganyani was honoured for his exceptional skills by Castle Loud and given an Achievers Award. He has played alongside big names like, Little Louie Vega, Christos, Vinnie, Glen Lewis, T-Boze, Aldrin Mokgotsi and many others.
To-date in addition the two albums above, Ganyani has produced a total of five ‘hit’ albums; In The House ‘featuring Ganyani’, Ganyani’s House Grooves 3 and the recently launched Ganyani’s House Grooves 4 which is currently in the Top Ten on YFM and doing overall. He has also made collaboration projects with Mdu Masilela and Joe Nina, the most recognised music producer/song writers.Ganyani is a DJ of choice for Orlando Pirates F.C. and the South African Football Association. He has tutored, mentored and inspired the likes of Khabzela, DJ Mbuso, DJ Bradley, DJ Slender also the ever popular Mpho Tsedu of Phala Phala FM and Muvhango fame, and the SABC 1 favourite continuity presenter, Zandi Nhlapo,FB and many more.
The Family is a project started by Dj Ganyani; under his stable Ganyani Entertainment. He has formed a team of young musicians with a unique sound.The 1st gathering is the beginning of many great projects to come. The usage of different languages also indicates the aim to reach a broader market. Lyrics range from English, IsiZulu, Xitsonga, Sepedi, Xhosa,Nyanja and Shona. It’s a sign of embracing our culture not just as South Africans but Africans. With hit songs like; That’s life, Maxaka, Let me love you, Woyika Amantombi,Namupeza & others. This is set out to be one of the greatest projects in the House music scene.
