he rape trial of Kwaito musician Sipho Charles Ndlovu, popularly known as ‘Brickz’, has been postponed to August in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court, west of Johannesburg.
The 32-year-old musician is accused of raping a 17-year-old girl at his home in Honeydew in March 2013.
However, the alleged rape was only reported to the police seven months later.
Brickz appeared briefly in the dock before his trial was postponed to the 3rd and 4th of August.
The woman he’s accused of raping was unable to attend proceedings as she is writing two exam papers.
During her last court appearance in March, Magistrate John Baloyi asked everyone in court to leave the room in order to hear her testimony in camera.
She stopped 15 minutes into her testimony as she was emotionally overcome.
Brickz has been out on bail of R50 000 since 2013 after spending at least a month behind bars.
