APR eye Peace Cup title defence

The reigning Peace Cup champions, APR, will be hoping to kick off their title defence with a win over second division side La Jeunesse on Thursday afternoon at Kicukiro Stadium.
APR interim head coach Dusan Suljagic is keen on winning the double but has been quick to warn his players against complacency.
“We do not consider any team small. We respect La Jeunesse and I have told the players to be very careful about this. We have to be disciplined and start our title defence on a good note with a win,” said the Serbian tactician.
Goalkeeper Yves Kimenyi will be between the posts replacing the recovering Olivier Kwizera, who suffered a mild injury to his ankle while wingback Patrick Sibomana has been cleared to play.
Suljagic told supersport.com that he is considering resting several of the players who have been involved in the Caf U-23 Championship/Rio 2016 Olympic qualifiers in the past one month where Rwanda defeated Somalia 3-1 on aggregate before losing to Uganda 4-1.
Right back Michel Rusheshangoga and playmaker Andrew Buteera have been left out of the 18-man squad for the game. Central defender Emery Bayisenge could also be rested. However, Suljagic confirmed that Yannick Mukunzi will definitely feature against La Jeunesse.
